I am the Lead Practice Nurse and an Associate Partner at Dartmouth Medical Practice. Having grown up and continued to live in Dartmouth, I am passionate about the health and wellbeing of our local community and committed to providing and developing high-quality healthcare services for the people of the town.
I provide a broad range of general practice nursing services, including the management of long-term conditions such as respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. My role also encompasses immunisations and vaccinations, cervical screening, contraception services including coil fitting, wound care, health promotion, preventative healthcare, and supporting patients with lifestyle changes to improve their overall health and wellbeing.
I completed my Registered Nurse training at the University of Plymouth, followed by further study in Integrated Community and Primary Care. I have also completed a Master's course in Leadership and Management and Quality Improvement in Long-Term Conditions through the University of Hertfordshire. As part of this, I undertook a quality improvement project focused on lipid management and the prevention of cardiovascular disease, exploring ways to improve patient identification, treatment optimisation, and long-term health outcomes.
Alongside my clinical and leadership responsibilities, I am committed to supporting the future nursing workforce through mentoring and training student nurses during their placements. I enjoy helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for successful careers in healthcare while promoting high standards of patient-centred care.
